Sometimes life is hard. Whether you have a mental health problem such as anxiety or depression, or life simply seems a struggle and you’ve lost your way. Talking things through can help.
‘If you know someone with a problem, the best thing you can do for them is to listen!’
I’m a qualified and experienced counsellor and CBT psychotherapist with 20 years of experience helping people. I provide a safe space to talk, explore and find ways to cope with problems and difficulties of life. Whether this is focusing on a specific problem, helping find your right path or to straighten out your life.
The main approach I use is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is a talking therapy, which examines the way we think and helps to understand and map out the connection between thoughts, feelings and behavioural consequences. Therapy takes a structured and practical approach, focusing on present day problems and clear goals, working to balance, normalise and put thinking into perspective. Learn and develop skills, put these strategies into practice safely through experimentation, monitoring results, and adapting strategies as required.
I have experience of working with the mental health problems of anxiety, depression and associated difficulties, anger, life stress and struggles, assertiveness, trauma and PTSD. I have a special interest in personal growth and development, including issues of esteem, meaning and being stuck with life and developing life goals.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
